Woman Files Lawsuit For Slip and Fall In Store

A Kanawha County woman that slipped and hit her head in a local grocery store has filed a personal injury lawsuit against the company.

The lawsuit was filed August 1 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Bigley Market, doing business as Foodland.

According to court documents, the woman accident happened when she entered the store on Bigley Avenue on August 5, 2006. While shopping, she slipped and fell on an unknown liquid on the floor. The woman alleges she hit her head in the fall.

The suit claims she sustained medical bills in excess of $19,000. She seeks compensation for her medical bills and other unspecified compensatory and punitive damages also in the case.
